Parents and Family Orientation

Parents and Family Orientation is designed for parents and families of new incoming students to learn about the transition into life at York University. By getting the information you need to support success for your student, this orientation will give parents and families facts about student services, a taste of university experience and an option to take a campus tour. As coming to university is an important decision, we want to connect with parents/families to answer all their questions.

PARENT ORIENTATION will take place on Saturday September 2, 2017.

Parent and Family Information Night took place on Tuesday August 16 and Thursday August 18. We know that starting university can be both an exciting time and also brings  mixed emotions for parents & family members. This 1.5 hour session helped parents prepare for both the challenges and excitement that their student faced as they began the next chapter of their life at York University.

The session covered key campus resources available to students and provided parents   with an inside look on the transition process that takes place during university. They had a  chance to hear from senior students along with campus partners including campus security and student financial services. The session identified ways that parents can support the students and help them thrive in the critical first months of University.
